Card Patterns #43 - Another Try!

I was not happy with the original card I made for Card Patterns #43 so here is another try!

I'm going to need a lot more Christmas cards this year than in the past because of the job I have this year.

I used patterned paper from the Basic Grey fruitcake collection (I've been holding on to it for awhile!) and the little santa image is from Graphic 45. There are little stickle dots around the santa image if you look close. The fancy brad is a K and Company brad that I got a bunch of after Christmas last year (now I wish I had more!).

I think this card turned out way better than the other one I did! I think I will make several patterns of Christmas cards and give them to different groups of people!

Kazan's Sketch #40 (2S4Y), Card Patterns 42 and 43

I'm very last minute, but here is my take on Kazan's Sketch #40 over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I used scraps to do this so it was very fun! The Thanks is from Cricut Beyond Birthdays and So Much is from Cricut Don Juan. The parens are from Cricut George. The little medallion is a Wilton Favor I found in the wedding aisle at Michaels!









I'm always in need of Thank You's so I also made a thank you for Card Patterns Sketch #43 (I'm ahead on this one!). I also used scraps. It feels so good to use some up!











And last but not least is a card that I started for Card Patterns #42 before the deadline but didn't finish until after. I thought it turned out cute so I still wanted to post it!

Card Patterns #41/Bitten By the Bug Contest!

I made this Turkey Day door hanger using card patterns sketch #41. The contest at Bitten By the Bug was to create something using a turkey, thankful, thanksgiving, etc. I used several cricut cartridges to do this one. Gobble, Gobble is from "blackletter." Happy Day is the gypsy font welded together with the gypsy. The pumpkin border is from gypsy wanderings. The flourishes are from Ashlynn's Alphabet (I used the gypsy to turn one around!!). And the turkey is from Beyond Birthdays. I cut several turkeys out and then pieced the different color feathers together. This was really fun!

Cross Country Word Book ~ A VERY SPECIAL PROJECT!

This book is special for many reasons:

My daughter ran Cross Country for the first time this fall. She just started middle school and most 6th graders run the 2000. She ran it twice and then started running the 3000 (the only 6th grader in the school to do it). She really improved her time with the last time the best! That is SPECIAL!

Another reason it is special is because my sister told me that she had made a "BABY" word book and she sent me pictures of it. It was totally cool and I loved it so I got thinking about word books.

My sister flew (and drove) from Texas to Idaho to visit my parents. I went to visit her there (I'm from Oregon). She had just purchased a Gypsy and she brought her Gypsy loaded with all her cartridges. I brought my cricut and paper and chipboard! We made 2 of these books in about 3 hours with her Gypsy and my cricut (it is George shape welded to Base Camp font). This was so much fun and I brought my Bind It All (still in the box) and she showed me how to use it! Another SPECIAL thing to make it with your sister!






When I got home, I just had to have a Gypsy! You see if it wasn't for Teresa, I wouldn't even have a cricut. I see her, she shows me what to do, and then I buy it! It is the coolest thing because she shows me what to do! That is SPECIAL too because I don't have to read a lot of instructions!







When I got home, I put pictures, dates, times, etc. in and this is the finished product! I absolutely love how it turned out! The patterned papers and ribbon are American Crafts.
