Card Patterns #13 and A Mother's Day Project!

I hope everyone had a great National Scrapbook Day! I did! I met my 2 scrapping friends at Craft Warehouse at 10 yesterday and we shopped and did a cute little make and take book (it was bound with a bind it all ~ so cool ~ and I have one in the box that I've never used so I think I'll be using it now!). Then we scrapped all day and I finished my Silverwood book! I will post pictures soon!

But....here is my Card Patterns card for Sketch #13. Below you will see my mother's day project. I used some leftover paper to make my daughter her birthday card (her birthday is 5/6!). The patterned paper is all Little Yellow Bicycle Zinnia. I love this paper! The happy birthday is a Technique Tuesday Stamp. The brad in the flower and the bling on the candles is the same Little Yellow Bicycle collection. I even doodled on the white paper!

A week ago, I took a class at my local scrap store, Scrapbook Fever (see the last post). We made this cool Fancy Pants frame. I wanted to get the same frame and do it in purples because my mother likes purple for mother's day. They didn't have any more of that frame so I bought the 18 X 9 frame. I bought and collected a bunch of cool purple stuff and then went to work to create!

And here is the finished product. It really looks better in real life. When my mom gets here, we will put in some pictures. I can't believe I did this by myself! The flower in the left bottom corner is made of several different kinds of paper. All the floweres are layered and chalked and there are lots of little details! Hopefully she will like it!

This last picture is of the frame we did in class last week. The paper is BoBunny. The teacher had everything cut out and it still took us all day. The big flower is a little different pattern ~ she gave us 2 patterns! I like the one that I made for the purple one a little bit better!
Have a great week! I know mine will be busy as both my kiddos have their birthdays, mother's day, National Corrections Week so lots of activities at work!
Take care!

2 Sketches 4 You (Week of 4/20/09)

I'm on the last day again to do 2 Sketches 4 You! But here is my card for Laura's Sketch 24! I got some really cool printable stamps from the Cutting Cafe (see the blogs I follow on the right for a link!) ~ Thank You Big Circle and All About Mom ~ and just thought this was a cool sketch to use them for! I added some bling and viola!

My second card is for Ewonne's Bonus Sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I used some printable stamps from the Cutting Cafe again! The Happy Graduation Big Circle and the calendar circle! My daughter gets "promoted" from 5th grade to middle school on June 10 so this is for her! She likes lots of bling and so this worked out really good. The owl and arrows are quickutz dies.

I spent most of the day taking a very cool class at my local scrapbook store (Scrapbook Fever) ~ it was to make a frame from the fancy pants 6 window frame. I need to put some pictures in it and then I will post pictures!

Thanks for taking a peek! And have a great rest of the weekend!

Card Patterns #11, A Cutting Cafe Card, and a Card for Administrative Assistant's Day

My first card is using the Card Patterns Sketch #11. I got this cool mother's day bingo card from thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com (see her 3/16/09 post for a link to these cool spring bingo cards). My mother loves purple so I pulled out some very old Rob and Bob paper that I got at Michael's for the card (almost my own use it challenge!). I cut the bracket from the cricut storybook cartridge and the heart and I love you from the cricut lyrical letters cartridge. Then I added some bling! And there you go - I did the challenge and I've got my mother's day card done!

This second card is for Sue, my executive assistant ~ Wednesday 4/22 is administrative assistant's day. I'm glad I looked at the internet for the date! I might have missed it. The paper is all basic grey. I cut the hibiscus frame from the cricut storybook cartridge and the youre simply the best from the cricut wild card cartridge. I also added bling and you have to look close but I used that Ranger glass affects and went over the words, outlined the flowers, and also the pattern on the left ~ very blingy too!

This last card is made using some more rob and bob paper! Yeah! And the big printable stamps from the cutting cafe - see link on the right. Regina Easter has had some awesome sales lately and this one is very cool. I actually made 10 of these because they are for a thank you event at work for a project team. Each one will get one and they will be signed by the director, deputy director and myself. In these tough economic times it is the little things that we can do to make people feel valuable! The Thanks in the middle is from the cricut don juan cartridge.
