2 Sketches 4 You (Kazan's Sketch 27), Use It Challenge #11, and some more Silverwood Book!

I know I haven't been around very much lately but I've completed all kinds of projects! Yeah! So here I am back! I've got 2 cards using Kazan's sketch 27 on 2 Sketches 4 You. The first one also incorporates most of the elements of Use It Challenge #11:

Square Card (got that)
Summer Theme (got that)
Ribbon (got that), Twine (couldn't figure out how to get that in!), and Flower (mine is hawaiin)
Punches (since I'm really into die cuts, I had to use my handy corner rounder because I don't have many punches any more!)

The die cuts are all from the cricut Life's a Beach cartridge ~ very fun!

I'm using this Aloha cards for my daughter's birthday thank you's as she had a hawaiin themed party!

My son's birthday was the day after my daughters so I needed thank you's for him also. I used the sketch again! I used the big circle words from the Cutting Cafe (see blogs I follow to the right to find out how you too can get these!), You're far out is a club scrap stamp, the world is a quickutz and the rocket is a sizzlet!

This card looks totally different than the other one!

Several weeks ago, I left off on my silverwood altered books! I've actually finished them and have more pages to post than these! It does feel good to have a completed project!

Silverwood is an Amusement Park in Northern Idaho. The pictures are all from July 2008.

Thunder Canyon is a really cool water ride! The words Thunder Canyon are from the cricut Stamped cartridge, wet and wild are from Cricut Don Juan, and the 2 water words are from cricut Graphically Speaking (loving this cartridge).

These are more pictures from Thunder Canyon! H2O is from cricut Graphically Speaking and Everywhere is from cricut Lyrical Letters!

The kids went on this ride something like 8 times! They had such a good time!

I love these pictures ~ if you look close you can see water just dripping off them!

"until we are" is cricut Alphalicious and Soaked is Revolution Blossom - the little waves in the letters are quickutz!

Besides finishing these books, I also finally finished painting our patio cover. It took weeks and 4 gallons of paint. At one point I tripped getting off the ladder and really hurt my elbow and arm (even went to the doctor and had it x-rayed but luckily it was not broken!!!!). My dad put up a cool drip system, I put up rope lights and some lanterns, planted some hanging pots and trying 2 topsy turvies for a green pepper and tomato. I also planted a bunch of plants in the yard and put together a little table and the bottom of a loveseat for a nice little sitting area on the patio! I even used plastic spray paint and redid a plastic bench! Loving it! Now that most of that is done, I'm back to scrapping and card making!

Have a great week and hopefully I will see you back here soon!

Card Patterns #13 and A Mother's Day Project!

I hope everyone had a great National Scrapbook Day! I did! I met my 2 scrapping friends at Craft Warehouse at 10 yesterday and we shopped and did a cute little make and take book (it was bound with a bind it all ~ so cool ~ and I have one in the box that I've never used so I think I'll be using it now!). Then we scrapped all day and I finished my Silverwood book! I will post pictures soon!

But....here is my Card Patterns card for Sketch #13. Below you will see my mother's day project. I used some leftover paper to make my daughter her birthday card (her birthday is 5/6!). The patterned paper is all Little Yellow Bicycle Zinnia. I love this paper! The happy birthday is a Technique Tuesday Stamp. The brad in the flower and the bling on the candles is the same Little Yellow Bicycle collection. I even doodled on the white paper!

A week ago, I took a class at my local scrap store, Scrapbook Fever (see the last post). We made this cool Fancy Pants frame. I wanted to get the same frame and do it in purples because my mother likes purple for mother's day. They didn't have any more of that frame so I bought the 18 X 9 frame. I bought and collected a bunch of cool purple stuff and then went to work to create!

And here is the finished product. It really looks better in real life. When my mom gets here, we will put in some pictures. I can't believe I did this by myself! The flower in the left bottom corner is made of several different kinds of paper. All the floweres are layered and chalked and there are lots of little details! Hopefully she will like it!

This last picture is of the frame we did in class last week. The paper is BoBunny. The teacher had everything cut out and it still took us all day. The big flower is a little different pattern ~ she gave us 2 patterns! I like the one that I made for the purple one a little bit better!
Have a great week! I know mine will be busy as both my kiddos have their birthdays, mother's day, National Corrections Week so lots of activities at work!
Take care!
